This live session featured a panel of Boost members who explored lessons learned related to their experiences with building public trust for COVID-19 vaccine delivery.

How to Set Up + Maintain a COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Site

Following their recent COVID-19 Listening & Learning podcast episode, the Curative team spent three weeks offering tailored 1-on-1 consultations with Boost members to help prepare members for setting up their own mass vaccination sites, including planning for cold chain systems with a large influx of vaccines. Building on these sessions, this expert team from Curative hosted a live session to highlight the most frequently asked questions from Boost members and to share tools that can support our global community through the pandemic.

Lessons Learned Around Supply Chain for COVID-19 Vaccine Introduction

Throughout the discussion, panelists surfaced real-time challenges impacting supply chain in the age of COVID-19. Many noted barriers, such as the shortage of staff to manage large facilities, lack of equipment and technical expertise to meet vaccine demand, along with the overwhelming lack of confidence for COVID-19 vaccines at all levels.

Lessons Learned from CSOs on Equitable Access to COVID-19 Vaccines

Throughout the discussion, panelists emphasized that Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) are critical to accessing hard-to-reach populations and that many CSOs have utilized innovative approaches to develop communications to reach groups including women in rural areas, informal workers and other vendors. CSOs continue to hold governments accountable to ensure that these populations are reached while also advocating for increased human resources to support pandemic response.

Community Perspectives on COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout

Throughout the session, panelists touched on their own experience with COVID-19 vaccine rollout in their respective countries. Despite the different contexts represented on the panel, common themes emerged including vaccine hesitancy among health workers and the importance of effective communication and leveraging lessons from previous epidemics to successfully address COVID-19 challenges.

With the ongoing global introduction of COVID-19 vaccines, immunization professionals face enormous challenges related to vaccine delivery, including identification and prioritization of target populations, effective supply chain management and rapid, sufficient uptake of vaccination.

The Boost Community is excited to announce the launch of its COVID-19 Listening and Learning Series, which will provide a platform for immunization professionals as well as others involved in COVID-19 vaccine delivery to share their perspectives on vaccine introduction with particular emphasis on transferable lessons learned.

During this series, you will have the opportunity to:

Hear from fellow Boost members and others involved in COVID-19 vaccine introduction, including representatives from the private sector, about the challenges they are facing or anticipating and how they are approaching those challenges.

Share your experiences with participants to begin a dialogue on actionable approaches to solving common challenges.

Connect with partners and other technical experts to expand knowledge and gain access to support as you navigate this crisis.
